The Washington subway system is right across the street from
the airport. When flying into DCA, you only need reservations if you are on an IFR flight
plan (see AFD). A trip on a normal Sunday should be within the skills of any active
licensed pilot who can understand ATC. You might try asking ATC for a monument tour of the
city on the way out of town. Don’t miss the Air and Space Museum, but do try to avoid
