First Flight is a national park and the site of the Wright brother’s first flight. The airport has no services (no overnight parking allowed) and no food, but a bus may, or may not, be available for the ride to town. The monument and visitor’s center commemorating the first flight are right at the airport. Jockey’s Ridge nearby is known for hang gliding as there is always a breeze blowing. Scenic flights along the outer banks are highly recommended. (6/84)
