The 150th Aero Flying Club was founded in 1960 by a group of general aviation pilots affiliated with the 150th Air National Guard, from which the Club takes its name. Although originally linked to the Guard, the Club now operates independently as a member-run, not-for-profit flying organization.
The Club was initially based at Hanover Airport in Hanover, New Jersey, and relocated to Morristown Municipal Airport (KMMU) in 1969, where it has remained ever since.
Membership in the 150th Aero Flying Club is open to certificated pilots holding at least a private pilot certificate. We aim to ensure fair and consistent access to our aircraft. To meet this goal, we limit adding new members if access becomes challenging. Currently, we aim for no more than about 20 members per aircraft.
We take great pride in the airmanship and professionalism of our members. Ongoing training is encouraged, and several Club-approved CFIs and CFIIs are available to support members pursuing additional ratings or refining their skills.
In addition to meeting all FAA requirements, each member is required to complete an annual flight with a designated Club pilot, reinforcing our shared commitment to safety and proficiency. Members also participate in the routine care and upkeep of our aircraft as part of our cooperative culture.
